The Stuffed Shelves of Capitol Hill Books, Washington DC

Welcome to the weblog and newsletter of the Department of Literature and Languages at Marymount University. An English department consists of more than course offerings, reading assignments, and research papers. This blog records the extra-curricular scholarly and creative activities of faculty, students, and alumni and includes information on campus and local events of interest to our literary community.

Located in Arlington, Virginia, in close proximity to Washington D.C., the department offers courses in communication, creative writing, literature, linguistics, and foreign languages. These courses support a variety of undergraduate degree and certificate options, a master’s degree in Literature, Language, and the Humanities, and the university’s general education program.

For more information, contact the chair of the department, Dr. Marguerite Rippy, at mrippy@marymount.edu or the director of the graduate program, Dr. Tonya Howe, at thowe@marymount.edu.
